The vicar’s widow

The predicament of this recently bereaved older woman is demonstrated here.

Whilst respectably dressed and occupying the front pew in a beautiful and holy environment, the pulpit is empty as her husband the late vicar is dead.

She has lost her living as well as her spouse. Her position and status in the parish and probably her home will also go as she will have to move out of the vicarage to make room for the new incumbent and his family.
